QiGong Training
In addition to the QiGong class (CM561) in the first level of the MSTCM program of study, ACTCM offers the following Qi Gong programs to students, alumni, and the public:
Dayan QiGong
“Dayan” means wild goose. “Qigong” means the practice of qi. It is a complete set of exercises including warm ups, meditation, self massage and 64 movements. Dayan Qigong promotes health and immune function, increases energy, flexibility and balance, and reduces stress. It is part of traditional healing in that it balances the yin and yang in our bodies, regulates the functions of all of our organs, and helps the meridians, blood vessels and other fluids to flow freely. Baduanjin or The Eight Section Brocade promotes health and longevity for the young and old. Qigong is an excellent addition to your daily regimen. Each of the 8 movements is related to the Qi meridian and its associated internal organs such as the heart, liver, stomach, spleen and lungs. The focus of Ba Duan Jin is:
• To improve good health, vitality and longevity
• To attain spiritual fulfillment regardless of religious background or affiliation
• To become acquainted to traditional Chinese Shaolin etiquette, language and culture

The medical qigong immersion program offers a focused master-student group experience over a two-year period. Students may enroll in any one of the modules offered during the first year, or enroll in the two year program. The program introduces students to diversity of qigong styles, self-healing and self-cultivation. Each module combines practice and meditation and focuses on a particular theme. Modules include Chinese Medicine Spiritual Cosmology and Ecology, The Yijing Theory and Practice, Qigong Self-Healing Massage and Daoist Chinese Medicine Sound Healing. The second year, which requires a full-year commitment, focuses on medicinal qigong and meditation teacher-training.
