Community Outreach

ACTCM strives to serve the local community and increase understanding of TCM through participation in local health fairs, public lectures, conferences and special events. ACTCM welcomes alumni involvement in these events which provide excellent opportunities for practice building.

If you'd like to become involved in community outreach, consider becoming one of ACTCM's Community Outreach Specialists. This position is great for newer grads who are working on building their patient load and their real-life TCM skills. Duties involve speaking to the public and other health care practitioners about the benefits of TCM, offering auricular acupuncture and/or massage, and representing the college to the public. Events can include employee health days, company in-services, presentations to local businesses, lectures at local colleges and universities, and local health fairs and street fairs.

If you'd like to learn more about this position, please contact ACTCM's Director of Communications

Become a Mentor

ACTCM offers students a mentorship program where third year students are paired with ACTCM alumni who have an established practice in the Bay Area. The program enables current students to spend one quarter working and learning about the details of private practice set up and management.

The Mentorship Program was implemented as a direct response to requests by current ACTCM students.  Benefits of this relationship are many, including alumni receiving additional assistance in their practices, and the student-apprentices gaining invaluable knowledge, hands-on experience, and general office expertise.

If you'd like to become a mentor, please contact ACTCM's Director of Student Services.

“Having visited several other TCM schools, I felt that ACTCM most embraced the TCM culture and its medicine. The herbal pharmacy and garden, the quality of the facilities, the internationally renowned instructors, and the clinical observation experiences – they all add so much to the DAOM program. The curriculum’s emphasis on eastern and western medical approaches is vital for a clinician practicing in this modern era.”
